Guidehouse is seeking a Organizational and Operations Transformation Manager with experience in Human Capital to join our Defense and Security Segment, where they will manage a project in support of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Trade. The Office of Trade is CBP's office responsible for setting policy and establishing new programs to manage U.S. imports and exports. Within the Office of Trade, the Mission Readiness Directorate (MRD) requires Guidehouse support in leading and executing multiple initiatives that executing and maturing their human capital and workforce planning initiatives. The Organizational and Operations Transformation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Guidehouse team that supports the MRD customer and initiatives. The Organizational and Operations Transformation Manager will be responsible for managing our project support, interfacing daily with the Office of Trade / MRD customers, overseeing development of key deliverables and execution of critical customer meetings, and ensuring we are delivering excellence that is on time and within budget.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a delivery team supporting Government clients on far-reaching initiatives

  • Oversee development of meeting materials, meeting notes, and strategic communications products

  • Develop project plans, team metrics, and track progress against intended outcomes

  • Lead research and analysis of business processes, policies, regulations, and other sources

  • Identify and implement recommended improvements across initiatives and programs for clients

  • Facilitate meetings, working sessions, and interviews to gather information, collect client stakeholder inputs, and design recommendations and solutions

  • Establish approaches and frameworks to provide clients with strategy, policy analysis, business process improvement, strategic communications, facilitation, and analytics services

  • Conduct deliverable reviews to ensure work products are timely and meet quality standards

  • Guide the team on deliverable standards and quality and coach individuals on how to improve product quality

  • Develop clear and concise communications and visually appealing products, including graphics, briefings, and other collateral

  • Serve as the primary client liaison for both business and technical matters and maintain responsibility for scheduling, staffing, risk management, and overall team performance

  • Lead business development activities including RFP responses and proposal development


What You Will Need:

  • US Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain CBP Public Trust

  • At least 10 years’ of professional work experience, preferably in management consulting (or 5 years of professional work experience + a Master's degree)

  • Critical and strategic thinking to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to client’s management and operational challenges

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, management, public policy, government, international affairs and/or related fields from an accredited college/university

  • Experience managing projects with junior and mid-level staff

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-based work environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and quick-turn deliverables

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity

  • Ability to quickly learn and master complex concepts and terminology

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to break down complex ideas into intuitive frameworks

  • Ability to interact professionally and confidently with client leadership and executives

  • Sharp attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including SharePoint


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience working in international trade, either in the public or private sectors

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)

  • Experience conducing operating model assessments, gap analyses, or other in-depth holistic assessments for clients

  • Experience using PowerBI, Tableau, or other visual data analysis tools

  • Ability to convey concepts and processes graphically using professional graphics, infographics, and visuals
