Security Engineer

11:11 Systems is looking for an experienced Security Engineer to aid in the management, deployment, and support of network security components within our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be energetic, adaptable, detail oriented, and have experience with network and security technologies. This is a full-time remote position based in the United States and reporting to the VP, Engineering and Technology.

Responsibilities

Provide support for managed security solutions including firewalls, switches, log aggregation, and other security platforms

Observe incoming alerts and respond to issues in accordance with documented Service Level Objectives

Assist as an escalation point for security related requests

Perform the configuration, deployment, integration of security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with best practices

Identify and communicate security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications, and new technology initiatives as requested via customer change requests

Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer and company systems

Maintain and audit operational configurations to ensure compliance with standard baselines; improve baseline configurations as new risks and threats emerge

Maintain working knowledge and comprehension of current threats, risks, and exploits through news, media, and industry

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills

The following skills represent the minimum requirements to be considered for this position:

Experience in network administration or information security Network+ certification or obtained within 180 days required

Security+ certification or obtained within 180 days required

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal skills to interact with team members

Demonstrated experience with network and security technologies, including IPv4, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN design theory, static/dynamic routing protocols, NAT, next-generation firewalls, endpoint security, network access control, etc.

Working knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO, NIST, CIS, etc.

Demonstrated knowledge of various security methodologies/processes and technical security solutions (firewall and network/security devices)

Knowledge of common tactics, techniques and procedures and common frameworks

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
