We are currently seeking a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team and contribute to the high standard of care we provide to our patients. Whether you are a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or a Veterinary Assistant with previous experience, we welcome your expertise in supporting our veterinary team and enhancing the client experience.

Location: 1411 Coley Rd, Tupelo, MS 38801
Wage: Starting at $15.00 per hour, based on experience and skills
Hours: Weekdays: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional weekends (Saturday's only: 8a - 12p)

Key Responsibilities

Assist with Veterinary Exams & Procedures:
  • Help veterinarians during routine exams, emergency procedures, and surgeries by preparing the patient, assisting with medical tools, and ensuring a smooth flow of each appointment.
  • Provide support during surgery, including monitoring anesthesia, preparing surgical instruments, and assisting with any immediate needs.
Patient Care & Monitoring:
  • Monitor the health of animals before, during, and after procedures. Report any changes in condition to the veterinarian immediately.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian, ensuring correct dosages and appropriate delivery methods.
  • Comfort and provide compassionate care to animals, making sure they feel safe and calm throughout their time in the clinic.
Medical Equipment & Supplies:
  • Maintain and sterilize medical tools, equipment, and surgical instruments.
  • Ensure that medical supplies are fully stocked and organized for the day’s procedures.
  • Help with equipment maintenance and report any issues to ensure all equipment is functioning optimally.
Client Communication & Education:
  • Assist with client communication during appointments, ensuring a positive experience for pet owners.
  • Answer client questions, provide guidance on at-home care, and ensure understanding of their pet’s treatment plan.
  • Encourage preventative care and educate clients on various health topics, including vaccinations, dietary needs, and behavior management.
Clinic Maintenance:
  • Keep clinic areas clean, organized, and sanitary, including treatment areas, kennels, exam rooms, and surgical spaces.
  • Perform routine cleaning duties, ensuring proper infection control procedures are followed.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with veterinarians, other technicians, and veterinary assistants to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Assist other team members with tasks as needed, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Assist with various clinical and administrative duties as needed to ensure the overall success of the hospital.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise to be Successful

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Veterinary Assistant with at least one year of experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred.
  • Experience in general veterinary practice or emergency care is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong communication skills, both with clients and team members.
  • Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with care and professionalism.
  • Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A compassionate, reliable, and professional demeanor when interacting with both pets and clients.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift animals and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand
