The Role

The Global Warranty Strategy - Business Project Manager will lead cross-functional business initiatives within Dealer Service & Warranty Operations (DSWO), with a primary focus on warranty strategy, process improvement, systems implementation, and operational readiness.

The Global Warranty Strategy team is responsible for transforming how dealers interact with GM for warranty claims.  This includes re-imagining the processes, technology and tools to streamline the work for dealers, ensuring compliance with GM’s service policy and procedures and ensuring good customer experience.  The role is responsible for translating business needs into actionable plans, coordinating execution across multiple teams, managing timelines and deliverables, escalating issues when needed, and helping ensure solutions are delivered with quality, speed, and minimal business disruption.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the business project lead for assigned initiatives, representing the business through planning, execution, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Lead global cross-functional teams across Business, IT, and vendors to ensure priorities, requirements, timelines, and deliverables remain aligned.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, milestone plans, workstream deliverables, action tracking, and status reporting.
  • Report risks, issues, key decisions, and project status to stakeholders and leadership, escalating as needed to remove barriers and maintain momentum.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather, refine, and translate business requirements into effective process and system solutions.
  • Support business process improvements that strengthen operational execution, reduce waste, improve controls, and enable scalable solutions.
  • Coordinate testing, readiness, deployment, and transition-to-sustainment activities to ensure successful implementation with minimal disruption to the business.
  • Build strong partnerships across teams and communicate clearly with working teams, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5-6 years of experience leading cross-functional projects or business workstreams with demonstrated results.
  • Strong project management, planning, organizational, and execution skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, assess impacts, and drive action plans.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining quality and timeliness.
  • Experience working across Business, IT, vendors, and leadership in a complex operating environment.

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications) 

  • PMP certification

  • Experience in Warranty Operations, Aftersales, Service Operations, or related business areas.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, testing, or deployment activities.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methods such as lean, six sigma, kaizen, or value stream mapping.
  • Experience in a global or cross-regional business environment.
  • Experience developing business cases and supporting leadership decision-making.
