Overall Goal of Position:
A Maintenance Supervisor coordinates the installation, maintenance and repair work in facility. This position manages a team of maintenance leads and techinicans; regularly inspects maintenance process flow, executes work as necessary, maintains equipment and assigns techinicans to various projects while building OurRecipe@SauerBrands:
Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the being the liaison between the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Team with collaboration from the Maintenance Lead. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for interacting with and supporting plant personnel, facility engineers, enforcing all maintenance procedures, executing and maintaining all employee safety policies, manufacturing safety polices and associated administrative policies. The Maintenance Supervisor must be a hands-on leader that can be flexible in both meeting the needs of the plant mechanically, and in a managerial capacity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage, lead, and develop a staff of technicians to ensure timely and accurate repair of equipment within the budget.
• Provide leadership and training tools for the maintenance department to increase overall maintenance competencies.
• Create high performance work teams in the maintenance department that will use root cause problem solving methods to resolve issues.
• Assist with developing a training program for the maintenance technicians.
• Assist with coordinating communication and execution of facility projects with Plant Engineers and external vendors.
• Assist in developing improvement process for the parts and planning system. This includes approving parts requisitions for the plant.
• Directs maintenance/ human resource objectives by selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
• Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
• Assists in maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
• Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
• Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
