The Research Navigator serves as a research Navigator for activities related to the Merck grant in conjunction with the National Capital Area (NCA) Minority/Underserved NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC). The incumbent recruits’ patients to and from the community and NCORP approved protocols, conducting work according to the study protocols, standard operating procedures, HIPAA, and human subject’s protection guidelines. The Research Navigator is responsible for screening clinic schedules, obtaining informed consent on all eligible and interested participants, conducting epidemiologic surveys and focus groups related to clinical trials.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee patient interaction, recruitment, and consent activities, as well as enrollment and registration, per protocol requirements.

  • Administer study related questionnaires, screening schedules for eligible candidates.

  • Perform data entry and record maintenance, fulfilling data requests and reports as requested by the NCORP Program Manager.

  • Generate data queries and assists with the preparation of training and presentation materials (slides, flyers).

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields, such as public health

  • Experience with interactive databases, Microsoft, and EHR systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical abilities, and interpersonal skills

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
