Position Overview

Billing and corrections for all lines of business daily – Aggregates, Asphalt, Concrete in addition to a variety of other functions

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Validating customer sales orders and ticketing for aggregate, asphalt, readymix and liquid asphalt point of sale systems on a daily basis.
  • Work with different departments to resolve billing issues.
  • Assist in maintaining existing customer data.
  • Research customer and haul discrepancies.
  • Strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP rules.
  • Prepare for and respond to internal and external audit requests.
  • Responsible for inbound email sorting and distribution.
  • Fielding customer phone calls and emails to resolve issues or assist with customer questions.
  • Other duties as directed.

Other Requirements:

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be conscientious and strong attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time of 8:00am.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements & procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices & Procedures.
  • Strict adherence to Hinkle Contracting policies & procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment & assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. 
  • Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Hinkle Contracting employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
  • Knowledge with Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Overtime may be required during peak season, including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience

High school diploma required, Associate’s degree preferred; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to communicate sufficiently with diverse groups to solve problems, exchange ideas, and to give and receive detailed verbal instructions.  Ability to speak effectively and professionally to customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
