Senior Associate, Financial Analysis

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join the FP&A Rewards team. This individual will work cross-functionally across Rewards teams, controllers function, FP&A, and connected teams to support effective financial management and lead analysis in support of the liability management. This Senior Analyst will report to the Rewards and Premium Lead.
In this role, you will focus on the Rewards Liability for the Domestic Card business. Rewards are one of the primary ways we deliver value to customers through our Credit Card products. This associate will be responsible for managing the ongoing earn, redemption, and future projections of customer rewards, as well as performing ad hoc analysis on interchange margins and reward expense trends to support business decisions.
The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills to effectively:
Critically evaluate data and option sets to present recommendations
Partner with Rewards teams and business leadership to assess the financial implications of Rewards liability and trends, providing insights to optimize value for both customers and the business
Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences
General Responsibilities:
Financial analysis & reporting: Accurately analyze and explain revenue and expense implications of Rewards liability, report key updates to leadership as part of quarterly management routines, and analyze key drivers of redemption and earn trends
Forecasting, and P&L management: Manage financial planning related to Rewards liability and associated business dynamics
Executive business presentations: Assist in developing presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences and clearly articulate insights to leadership teams
Ad hoc analysis: Support analysis of interchange margins, reward expense trends, and other strategic initiatives as needed
Project management and prioritization: Independently manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks, acting as a project lead for certain responsibilities within the team
Process improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve processes related to Rewards tracking, forecasting, and financial impact analysis
Communication: Express strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively influence stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis
At least 2 years of experience with financial modeling
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis
At least 3 years of experience with financial modeling
Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Financial Analyst
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
