Summary

SRP is currently recruiting a College Intern for students majoring in engineering programs. This internship provides "on-the-job" experience to develop skills and provide exposure to the power utility industry, specifically, for the Distribution Planning team. The Distribution Planning team is responsible for planning SRP's distribution system, ensuring that SRP has the distribution infrastructure required to serve the needs of our expanding and evolving customer base in a safe, reliable, and economical manner. 
The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department's needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 29.5 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do

    • Assist engineers with analyzing distribution interconnection requests and studies.
    • Monitor and analyze trends, municipal changes, and other activities affecting our distribution service territory. 
    • Support research, data collection, and analysis related to distribution planning studies. 
    • Participate in forecasting and demand planning activities.
    • Help prepare reports and presentations for leadership review.
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation.
    • Attend team meetings and gain exposure to strategic planning discussions.

Experience with Power BI, Python, or planning tools and software, are not required but nice to have.

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
