Nurse Clinical Coordinator- Employee Heatlh Services Beth Israel- Full-Time Days

The Clinical Coordinator for Employee Health Services (EHS) has  responsibility of oversight of activities in the assigned department, who in partnership with others achieves quality patient outcomes, cost effectiveness and efficiency in services across the System. The position includes the following core duties: Policy and program development, protocol writing and revision, staff education, quality improvement, and clinical duties including telephonic outreach of patients and issue resolution. This is a position that mixes both clinical and administrative work.

Under the general direction of the Clinical Program Director, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the efficient functioning of EHS on a daily basis. The Clinical Coordinator:

• Analyses workloads and skill requirements to meet patient care needs. 
• Coordinates and directs the daily patient care services provided by staff.
• Assesses staff competencies and makes patient care assignments.
• Delegates appropriate tasks to appropriate personnel, consistent with legal and professional guidelines and departmental standards.
• Carries a modified patient care assignment providing telephonic outreach to employees.
• Maintains clear communications with the Clinical Program Director and Administrator regarding unit needs and/or incidents.
• Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of nursing staff with a focus on promoting clinical competence in the provision of nursing.
• Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
• Assumes responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided by the staff assigned to the unit, including the implementation of programs to improve this quality.
• Performs related duties as required. 
• Ensures adherence to standards in EHS based on Hospital Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, Department of Nursing Standards, and unit standards with collaboration with the Clinical Program Director in unusual situations.
