The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. TEE products are located in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments utilized for weapon system product verification, qualification, test data analysis, and production test solution development. TEE has job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and sustainment.

TEE is looking for an onsite Senior Test Equipment Mechanical Engineer in Tewksbury, MA to be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining complex test environment systems for all Raytheon products.

What You Will Do

  • Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
  • Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
  • Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
  • Support onsite manufacturing build
  • Troubleshoot mechanical fixtures and provide root cause corrective action analysis
  • Management and release of technical data packages

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum three (3) years of related experience
  • Experience in mechanical engineering design and/or production support
  • Experience creating mechanical drawing packages
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging
  • Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis
  • Design experience with cable harnesses
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM)
  • Experience in Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design
  • Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development
  • Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
