As an Assurance Senior Manager in Aprio’s national Professional Practice Group, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to professional standards, specifically AICPA auditing and accounting and review standards for the assurance practice. Beyond this, you will also be responsible for tracking and comprehending the evolving landscape of developments and proposals from the AICPA and assessing their potential impacts on our operations. Your profound expertise in regulatory compliance and technical acumen will guide our assurance team members in providing assurance services that adhere to all relevant professional standards. In this leadership role, you will drive the firm’s quality control for auditing, reviews and other assurance services through internal inspections, serving as an engagement quality reviewer on select engagements and lead the assurance practice professionals in upholding the highest standards of professional excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Adherence to Professional Standards and Compliance Oversight:
- Serve as the firm's subject matter expert on AICPA audit standards, SSARS, and other relevant professional guidelines.
- Stay abreast of emerging standards from the AICPA, translating them into actionable guidance for our assurance practice.
- Ensure assurance engagements conform to professional standards and regulatory requisites.
Quality Control and Internal Inspections:
- Maintain and execute a comprehensive quality control framework for our assurance practice, encompassing policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Manage a rigorous internal inspection program, evaluating engagement documentation, methodologies, and compliance.
- Lead internal inspections, extract insights, and implement enhancements that foster continuous improvement in adherence to professional standards.
Peer Review Management:
- Oversee the firm's peer review process, collaborating seamlessly with external peer reviewers.
- Coordinate the preparation of peer review materials, address findings constructively, and integrate recommendations for optimal results.
- Leverage peer review outcomes to refine and elevate assurance practice methodologies.
Engagement Guidance and Leadership:
- Provide expert counsel to engagement teams, guiding them in the application of professional standards.
- Partner with engagement leaders to resolve intricate accounting and auditing matters.
- Fortify client relationships by exemplifying our commitment to exacting adherence to industry best practices.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of accomplished assurance professionals, nurturing a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Offer expert support for technical inquiries, fostering a collaborative environment of knowledge-sharing.
- Organize and deliver training sessions to keep the team current on evolving professional standards and regulations.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance:
- Evaluate and mitigate risks inherent in assurance engagements, ensuring full alignment with firm policies and regulatory mandates.
- Conduct meticulous reviews of engagement documentation to verify accuracy, comprehensiveness, and adherence to professional standards.
Thought Leadership and Communication:
- Contribute to the creation of thought leadership materials related to professional standards and assurance practices.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to disseminate updates on quality control initiatives to the firm's staff and clients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
