Job Title: Substitute Teacher, Part-time
Reports to: Principal
Location: Saint Martha Catholic School | Sarasota Florida
Overview
Saint Martha Catholic School in Sarasota, Florida is seeking a Substitute Teacher. This position will provide educational instruction to students in assigned age group or subject area for short-term or long-term assignments.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver educational instruction using the most efficient and effective methodology for the students assigned when regular teacher is unavailable.
- Provide corrective feedback to students and re-teach as necessary, to insure students have mastered the objections.
- Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians and other educators to assist the students.
- Implement approved-course curriculum.
- Implement modifications in a student’s education plan as required.
- Complete written reports and assigned administrative tasks related to these functions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Florida State Certification (or approved application for Certification)
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently and in groups.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask
- Knowledge of theory and practice of student learning styles
- Ability to remain calm and pleasant under stressful circumstances
- Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with staff, students and parents.
- Strong computer skills.
