Payroll Specialist
About the Position: ODMHSAS has an exciting new opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our team of passionate Human Resources professionals. This position will assist our Payroll Manager in performing payroll functions for the Department. The incumbent will perform a variety of complex tasks of professional and administrative payroll functions in support of administering the preparation and processing of payroll, administering leave and other benefits affecting payroll, and assisting with personnel transactions. This includes assistance with garnishments, payroll reporting, auditing, and assisting with timesheets while maintaining compliance with OMES rules and deadlines.

  • Primary Working Hours are M-F; 8:00am-5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of professional experience in human resources management;
  • Or a master’s degree in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, public administration, sociology, psychology or a closely related degree plus one year of professional experience in human resources management;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE: Experience which was incidental to or not a major responsibility or duty of the position shall not be accepted as qualifying. Human resources management experience should include at least one of the following: job analysis, position classification, wage/salary and benefits administration, civil rights administration, recruitment or payroll administration.
