About the role

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Cambridge, MA  

Shift: Mon – Fri, ~7:30 am – 4 pm

Wage Range:  $27 – $29 per hour

What we’re looking for: 

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years’ experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, and/or customer service.

  • Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health, and safety issues.

  • Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Solid understanding and experience in inventory management, computer applications, and communicating at all levels.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can-do demeanor.

  • High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to self-manage, self-motivate, and prioritize tasks in order to meet goals. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both the customer and internal contacts.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.

  • Knowledge of scientific products and services is a plus.

  • Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know is a plus.

  • Cross referencing and inside sales experience is a plus.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
 

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate delivery schedules so that all Point of Use (POU) orders will be delivered to the customer in a timely manner. Whenever possible, notify the customer in advance if there is a risk of possible product stockout due to delivery timeframe.

  • Provide proper product identification and manage rotation of stock.

  • Ensure all stocking locations are clearly labeled for ease of issuance, stocking, and re-ordering.

  • Process manual receipt of all incoming orders in the customer’s inventory management system, prior to delivery to end user location (POU or bench).

  • Perform daily check audit activities as designated by the customer’s inventory management system.

  • Receive orders to drop zone areas and deliver to stockroom or POU locations.

  • Stage and sort orders for transfer to program stocking locations from stores.

  • Put away overflow stock in designated areas.

  • De-trash, prepare and transport stock.

  • Take corrective action regarding any non-compliant inventory which does not meet customer specifications.

  • Capture inventory trending and usage information which will be provided upon request from time to time to the customer.

  • Conduct a review of customer’s product mix based upon information gained from its Inventory Management System reporting.

  • Manage product returns for items in the inventory program when necessary.

  • Maintain receiving files as part of its Inventory Management System.

  • Collaborate with existing and future programs as requested by the customer with respect to Order and Inventory management.

  • Stock PPE (lab coats, gloves, and glasses) locations in customer lab areas.

  • Work may be performed in one or multiple buildings within the Cambridge area.

  • Updates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures.
