Job Description:

Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking an LPN in the Clinical Trials Unit.

Working in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act and under the direction of the Director of Nursing Operations, the Licensed Practical Nurse shall provide direct patient care for volunteers in various research programs that require ambulatory and/or total bed rest on the inpatient unit. The Licensed Practical Nurse shall also complete screenings, consenting, and study visits for specified clinical trials as needed. 

Required Qualifications *As part of a career progression group, this vacancy may be filled from this recruitment as an LPN 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

LPN 2

• Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice practical nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus one year of practical nursing experience.

LPN 3

• Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice practical nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus two years of practical nursing experience.

Additional Job Description:

Position is paid hourly/bi-weekly and qualifies for state benefits and retirement with LASERS.

Note: This position will be assigned days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays and earn a shift differential for nights, weekends, and holidays.
