Job Description Summary

The Senior Counsel, Litigation will provide legal advice to the organization on complex legal issues. They will provide guidance within assigned practice area(s) to in-house constituents.

Responsibilities

• Managing lawsuits and other legal disputes, including oversight of outside counsel defending such matters
• Retaining outside counsel and managing budgets for legal expense
• Developing strategies for assigned matters
• Drafting, reviewing, and providing input on pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement documents
• Overseeing discovery process including reviewing discovery requests and responses, identifying, collecting and producing internal documents, coordinating e-discovery, and interviewing custodians and company witnesses
• Preparing fact, corporate representative and expert witnesses for depositions, court appearances and trials
• Serving as strategic legal partner to business by reporting on legal matters and advising on risk mitigation
• Analyzing cases for settlement, conducting negotiations and attending mediations/settlement conferences
• Preparing or contributing to internal litigation reports

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA accredited law school
