FLEX Senior System Engineer

JOB SUMMARY   This is a temporary position.  

• Proven track record of engineering enterprise solutions for a large global company.

• Knowledge of Agile, preferably SAFe, and Design Thinking

• Knowledge of Component Hardening (CIS/NIST) and Application Control, applied at a large global enterprise level

• Knowledge of Vulnerability Management, Patching, and Compliance enforcement for endpoints

• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint tools and Advanced Threat Protection

 

Sr. Systems Engineer -

 

The Systems Engineer ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems and technologies that support Global Workplace Services (GWS) enterprise facing products and platforms. This role serves as a key technical resource designing, engineering, and delivering vulnerability management, patch, and compliance solutions for Windows and Mac workstations. This role will perform research, analysis, design, creation, testing and implementation of system controls to meet current and future endpoint security requirements. They will work with systems, application, and enterprise/solution architects to develop requirements and test cases, implement, monitor, report, and tune applications and services for Marriott’s endpoint platforms.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

Education and Experience

 

Required:

 

o         7+ years experience in information technology with technical skills such as:

o         3+ years Desktop OS (Windows and MacOS) experience

o         3+ years experience with design and implementation of CIS/NIST hardening standards for a global company

o         3+ years experience with design and implementation of a near 100% patch management solution

o         3+ years experience in the design and implementation of enterprise threat protection tools for endpoints including Application Control

o         3+ years experience in Cloud and On-Premise Enterprise Service and Application Delivery

o         3+ years experience with Desktop Management Tools (ex. Intune, Big Fix, WS1, SCCM)

o         3+ years experience in automation and scripting languages

 

Preferred:

 

•         Experience in the design, implementation, and operational support of mission critical solutions

•         Demonstrated experience delivering technology solutions in a fast-paced, deadline driven enterprise environment

•         Demonstrated experience learning and applying new technologies to solve business needs

•         Excellent problem-solving skills working independently and through leading outcomes for cross functional teams

•         Excellent understanding of change management, testing requirements, techniques, and tools to ensure high availability of systems

•         Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities

•         Experience across many of the following platforms:

o         Operating Systems: Windows, MacOS

o         Endpoint Security: CIS/NIST Benchmarks/Hardening, Application Control, Endpoint DLP, EDR, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Endpoint PAM, Asset Management/CMDB

o         General Security: Compliance, Information Assurance, Data Protection using industry-best practices and tooling (ex. Azure, Active Directory, Crowdstrike Falcon, Tenable.io, Netskope, Splunk Phantom, HashiCorp Vault signers, Certificate Management)

•         Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products

•         Experience in developing technology roadmaps and strategies

•         Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders and IT teams

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

 

•         Provides technical leadership, oversight, governance, and direction for services related to Marriott solution delivery for endpoint protection and security tools

•         Provides technical expertise to project team for successful project and change implementations related to endpoint security tools

•         Determines customer requirements and works with sourced resources to develop solutions for endpoint protection

•         Leads analysis of current environment for deficiencies and provides solutions

•         Provides input into lifecycle, improvement, and standardization strategies in coordination with Enterprise Architecture and Global Information Security

•         Develops and generates utilization reports to provide visibility to performance, capacity, availability, and SLA management related to endpoint protection tools

•         Utilize capacity data to model future state planning with overall strategy and goals
