We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Data Center Operating Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer and Facility Manager to oversee the operations of the engineering department. You will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support, preplanning electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance, as well as supervising and directing maintenance personnel in installation, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Communicate with the customer on a routine basis. • Supervising and directing the maintenance staff on shift, monitoring their performance, and ensuring efficient completion of service requests. • Providing training and supervision to enhance the capabilities of the operations staff, including instruction in maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures. • Implementing and overseeing the preventative maintenance program, scheduling maintenance tasks with minimal disruption to building services and ensuring inventory is maintained. • Authoring operational documents such as MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, etc. • Creating operational reports both recurring and ad hoc. • Manage the Change Control process. • Managing contracted maintenance work and repairs, scheduling vendor resources, ensuring timely completion, and fulfillment of agreement / warranty obligations. • Monitoring and conducting preventive maintenance on all building systems, including fire/life safety, HVAC, electrical, and emergency backup systems. • Complying with hazardous materials storage and disposal policies to maintain a clean and safe workplace. • Managing inventory of tools and supplies, submitting purchase-order requests, and developing sources for stock materials. • Overseeing activities of contractors working within the building and maintaining records of building rounds and readings. • Training contractors on critical functions and work to be performed, including incident response protocols. Lead the Incident Management process, understand emergency escalation procedures, and participate in incident investigations. Create incident sequence of events and lessons learned documents. • Ensuring all staff and contractors are familiar with the Critical Facility Work Authorization process.
Minimum Requirements:
• Hands-on experience working in a data center or critical facility, including Fire & Life Safety Systems, HVAC Systems, Automation, Access Control, UPS & Battery Systems, Emergency Generators, Fuel Systems, and Switchgear, preferred. • High School diploma or GED equivalent. • 5+ years of related work experience, including supervisory experience. • Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent. • Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs (or within 90 days of employment). • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Work location is onsite.

• Corrigo experience. • MCIM / Salesforce experience. • Zendesk experience. • Service Now experience. • NFPA 70E • CPR / AED / First Aid. • OSHA 10. • OSHA 30. • Data Center Industry certifications such as Data Center Certified Associate, Certified Mission Critical Operator, etc.
PHYSICAL WORK ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Walking large, campus-like settings. • Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. • Climbing stairs and navigating rooftops to access equipment. • Using ladder up to 30 ft and working from heights. • Ability to climb a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit. • Must be able to work different schedules. • Must be able to work holidays. • Must be able to respond to site emergencies. • Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, stoop, and work overhead. • Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.
