We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Manufacturing Team Lead. This position reports to the Production and Warehouse Supervisor and will work in Huntsville.

Dometic Marine’s facility in Huntsville, AL specializes in mobile power solutions and manufactures engine ignition replacement parts, DC charging systems, and battery monitoring systems for boats.

About the position

As Manufacturing Team Lead of the Huntsville team, you will be involved in manufacturing performance and day-to-day activities of a team of 10 to 20 operators, as directed by the manufacturing supervisor.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes manufacturing results and customer requirements by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and coaching; and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions.
  • Maintains quality performance by enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs as needed.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate to the manufacturing supervisor.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, sorting, and analyzing production performance records. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, procedures, MSDS, and maintaining 5-S standards.

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within  and XXXXX as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Minimum 1 year of people and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to meet department KPI standards (productivity, quality, cost, and on-time delivery)
  • Ability to complete, monitor and review manufacturing and quality logs
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, stand or walk about the manufacturing area throughout scheduled shift
  • Must be reliable and on time to work each day
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials
  • Ability to perform basic math skills and measurements
  • Strong computer, analytical, and communication skills
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing is a plus
  • Other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area using the principles of 5S
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, scheduling preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
  • Meet or exceed company standards for productivity
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product, process or quality system nonconformance
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system
  • Strive to develop and implement continuous improvement into all product, process or quality system
