The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.
The Resiliency Futures Office (RFO), within the Advanced Technology Division (ATD) of NSG, provides programmatic and technical expertise to critical government programs in the areas of technology development and technology maturation spanning both space and ground capabilities. We are looking for a Senior Resiliency Systems Engineer (Senior Project Leader – Resiliency Systems Engineering) who will be a key leader in RFO’s support to the development of boundary-pushing space systems and their integration into the space enterprise. This includes technical leadership over system architecture, design, and operations along with requirements development, end-to-end system analysis, and mission specific risk reduction activities.
This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, VA which requires 100% onsite work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as the systems engineering team spokesperson and overall integration leader for all of RFO’s resilient satellite systems engineering activities, including concept development, requirements development, design, test, and operation across all program phases
- Manage the systems engineering team’s portfolio of multiple major multi-disciplinary projects that span a variety of maturity levels and lifecycle stages
- Operate strategically to help scope and formulate roadmaps and plans for the development and maturation of corporate and industry technologies and capabilities needed for next generation resilient space and ground systems
- Engage with and coordinate across the government and industry to help solve emerging government policy or acquisition procedure problems that could hinder the development and integration of new resilient capabilities into the space enterprise
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for Aerospace prototyping and technology risk reduction activities
- Build and lead Aerospace teams of program office staff and subject matter experts to assess and guide new developments or solve emerging problems in critical technology areas
- Mentor Aerospace team members to build up leadership capabilities, strategic understanding, and systems engineering expertise
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Senior Project Leader – Resiliency Systems Engineering:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution, or equivalent experience
- Twelve (12) or more years of professional engineering experience with increasing responsibilities and applicable experience in engineering, technical, or strategic planning roles
- Demonstrated success in multi-disciplinary resilient systems engineering and/or program management
- Recognized successful leadership of mission-level analysis and architecting activities
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate the technical activities of multiple contributors across multiple disciplines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
