Senior Software Engineer

Location Details: 

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-events or offsites. Your hiring manager can share more about this role’s hybrid or remote time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or offsites.​

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

Our team, GoDaddy Payments is responsible for crafting innovative and strategically essential products such as payable domains, paylinks, virtual terminals, invoicing, point of sale devices, plus an API platform offering all payments capabilities to both internal and external developers. Additionally, we're responsible for the sale and fulfillment of POS devices, and a commerce portal where merchants can see business insights, manage their product catalog, and engage with their customers in new ways through chat, and loyalty programs

What you’ll get to do…

• Technical Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership to drive the transformation process from a startup to an enterprise. Evolve engineering processes for scale with TDD and pair programming. Be accountable for code quality, defect rates, and writing unit and integration tests.
• Architecture Design and Implementation: Design scalable, reliable, and secure software architecture that supports the organization's growth. Drive the implementation of architectural changes and ensure their successful integration within the existing systems.
• Scalability and Performance Optimization: Identify scalability bottlenecks and performance issues within the current infrastructure and provide innovative solutions to overcome them.
• Security and Compliance: Implement industry-standard security practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Proactively identify potential security vulnerabilities and work with teams to mitigate risks.

Your experience should include…

• Deep knowledge of software architecture design, including microservices, distributed systems, and scalable architectures.
• Experience in a technical leadership role, ideally in a startup-to-enterprise transformation context.
• Strong expertise with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React, and AWS.
