As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will join a team that plays a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of Tobii Dynavox's speech-generating devices and accessories. You will be responsible for defining system requirements, leading system architecture design, and driving the seamless integration of hardware, firmware, and software components. Working with a cross-functional engineering team, you will ensure the delivery of reliable, user-centric solutions that empower individuals with communication challenges to express themselves and engage with the world, all while meeting the highest standards of performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will:

  • Define system architectures and requirements, ensuring seamless integration of hardware, firmware, and software, while managing performance, cost, and troubleshooting.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements, manage risks, and ensure regulatory compliance (FDA Class II, MDR), including maintaining technical documentation.

  • Develop and execute system verification plans, support product lifecycle management, and drive continuous improvements from design transfer to post-market issues.

  • Mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and promote technical excellence and innovation across the organization.

  • Support broader organizational objectives as needed.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for someone that has:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 8+ years in system design, development, and integration, preferably in regulated industries.

  • Strong experience in system architecture, hardware-software integration, risk management, and familiarity with medical device regulations (FDA, EU MDR, ISO 13485).

  • Skilled in systems engineering tools for modeling and requirements management, with expertise in troubleshooting and balancing performance, cost, and compliance.

  • Strong communicator with leadership skills, capable of working in cross-functional teams.
