What You Will Accomplish

Acts as central contact for assigned event business, creatively bringing together customer visions and budgets with property resources to exceed customer expectations and meet/exceed property goals.

• Client Consultation & Event Planning: Meet with couples and clients to understand their event needs, offer creative suggestions, and determine setup requirements, equipment, and menu items. Anticipate needs to ensure flawless event execution. Actively seek opportunities to upsell and cross-sell services to maximize revenue and enhance the guest experience. Conduct site inspections and presentations to highlight the property’s wedding and social event offerings. Rebook clients for future events when possible.
• Create and manage detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for each event, ensuring that all client requests are captured, including setup, menu selections, décor, and special requests. Maintain close communication with clients to finalize event details and ensure accuracy.
• Distribute all event details to the relevant operational teams (banquet, catering, etc.) to ensure smooth execution and guest satisfaction. Maintain constant communication with clients to address any last-minute changes and requests.
• Act as the primary point of contact during the event to ensure seamless communication and rapid response. Attend all weddings and social events to oversee execution, ensuring that client expectations are met. Work closely with the banquet team to ensure seamless event execution and promptly address any unforeseen challenges. Be proactive in identifying solutions in real-time to ensure event success.
• Coordinate with vendors (florists, entertainment, photographers, etc.) when applicable to ensure cohesive event execution.
• Must wear closed toe and heel shoes. Slip-resistant shoes are recommended and may be required. Follows all safety policies and procedures. Acts on reports of potential safety issues or whenever observed and take immediate action to resolve emergency situations. OSHA laws require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety. Team Members will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE if applicable. The hotel provides the required PPE. Team Member has responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE or equipment that does not fit properly to their manager. Maintains strict compliance with the hotel’s Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program and familiarizes self with current MSDS.
• Reporting to work as scheduled (on time and on a regular basis) is an essential function of the job.

What You Will Bring
• Strong knowledge of sales techniques with strong skills and ability to negotiate and close sales. Use skills to up-sell services. Excellent creative skills to provide innovative set-ups, menus, and functions for groups. Ability to generate creative and innovative menus while working closely with Chef on pricing specialty menus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
• Ability to understand and participate in the monthly forecasting and annual budget process.

Great If you have
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management preferred. A deep understanding of wedding trends, social events’ needs, and catering services are essential.
• Two years of experience planning with a focus on weddings and social events, organizing and/or executing events with Convention services, Catering, and/or Banquets. Ability to assist in preparing creative menu offerings from banquet menu guide. Experience with food and wine pairing desired. Experience working in luxury or boutique hospitality environments preferred.
