  • Collaborate across departments and apply project-management skills to achieve objectives, and convert Springer Nature goals into journal-level strategies

  • Monitor the peer-review metrics and workflows across your portfolio, identifying areas for efficiency improvements; answer author queries and resolve problem manuscripts

  • Work with Editors to create commissioning plans, and oversee their implementation and completion

  • Oversee editorial operations, including editor/society contract renewals, editor and board member recruitment, and organizing editorial board meetings

  • Represent Springer Nature at scientific conferences to network with key opinion leaders, gather community feedback, and promote your journals to the research community

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educated to bachelor’s degree level

  • Proven experience in Journal editorial management

  • Demonstrated knowledge of STM journal publishing, including peer review, publication ethics, citation metrics, business models, and current developments in the market

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail

  • Proven ability to manage time and projects successfully to meet deadlines, achieve agreed goals, and deal with a wide variety of tasks, prioritising appropriately

  • Experience in commissioning (or supporting Editors to commission) editorial content, for example, special issues, topical collections, invited review articles, etc.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Highly customer-focused
