POSITION SUMMARY

Aleut is seeking a qualified and experienced Regional Space Advisor Academics Course Director/Space Operations Instructor to support course delivery and development at the National Security Space Institute (NSSI) Peterson SFB, CO.  This position will instruct lessons in various courses as well as develop, implement, validate, and maintain educational and course materials for assigned lessons.

The focus of this position is to develop internationally minded Guardians equipped to execute International Affairs and Security Cooperation (IA/SC) functions supporting U.S. and allied space objectives. Graduates will be able to synthesize U.S. and international space policies and actors, anticipate foreign responses to U.S. space activities, propose IA/SC strategies for CCMD AORs, and conduct deep-dive analysis into at least two spacefaring nations or one international organization.

This position requires familiarity in the following areas: DoD, commercial and civil space operations, ground systems, on-orbit systems, links, international capabilities, threats, cyber operations/threats/security. This position will be responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery of Space Operations related materials and lessons. Individual will assist in the coordination, development, and maintenance of Space Operations lessons, student experience levels, detail levels and delivery lengths. Individual will instruct space operations lessons, space command and control (C2), space capabilities, and similar topics in various in-residence, mobile, online, and/or blended NSSI courses. Individual will instruct Space Operations to various audiences in-residence NSSI and at travel locations as directed by the customer. Travel requirements of up to 25% annually, including occasional weekend and overseas travel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Instruct in various space and DoD related competency areas supporting online, blended, in-resident and mobile courses of the NSSI.
  • Qualify and deliver classroom instruction as assigned consistent with Instructional System Development (ISD) principles and NSSI Instructions to satisfy government course delivery requirements.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain lesson plans and materials within the USAF Instructional System Development (ISD) guidelines to satisfy government educational requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external agencies and customers as required to maintain up-to-date education program materials.
  • Provide strategic guidance in the adoption of modern digital learning experiences, identification of knowledge and skills gaps, and creation of new learning paths to support space expertise at scale.
  • Act as resident digital learning expert in support of future course development.
  • Additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in relevant field (8 years of experience in a relevant field may be substituted for the education requirement).

EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of Air Force Instructor Course or equivalent Joint Service or civilian course/degree
  • Experience with DoD training/education, including planning, developing, and delivering instruction in accordance with the ISD model, training records keeping and documentation.
  • Familiarity with USSF organizations, Guardian development and strategic direction
  • Working knowledge of USSF Space Competencies
  • Working knowledge of Commercial, Civil, and DOD space capabilities and operations
  • Working knowledge and experience with training and education systems and programs
  • Working knowledge of, and experience with, DoD Operational level command and control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint,
