As a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse, you will be at the forefront of clinical excellence and complex neuroscience care. We are the first comprehensive stroke center in Arizona and care for the most critically ill neuroscience population in the southwest. We have a great partnership with our service line physicians, residents, and care providers. As a teaching facility we engage staff and providers in EBP and encourage staff involvement.  You will also have the opportunity utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.   Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential.

The Neuroscience Service Line promotes development, growth, and teamwork. As an ICU Neuro Nurse, you will have the opportunity to participate in our Nursing Clinical Ladder Program.  We encourage continuing education, conference attendance, and certification. We employ a Neuroscience Clinical Nurse Specialist that teaches certification classes for our service line Registered Nurses in addition to being available daily as an expert resource. The Neuroscience Leadership team has leadership effectiveness score in the top 10% of the nation and involve staff in every decision that could impact the team. POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
