As Senior Manager, Indirect Sourcing leads the visibility, control, and optimization of company-wide indirect expenditures. This role is responsible for analyzing spend patterns, establishing governance and procurement processes, improving compliance, and driving cost efficiencies across all non-production spend categories. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, procurement process expertise, and stakeholder influence to build scalable controls and ensure disciplined spend management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and enforce procurement policies and approval workflows.
  • Standardize purchasing processes to reduce maverick spend and improve accountability.
  • Provide guidance and training to budget owners on procurement best practices and policy compliance.
  • Influence cross-functional teams to adopt standardized processes.
  • Establish compliance monitoring process and reporting for stakeholders.
  • Analyze enterprise-wide indirect spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting to provide leadership with actionable insights.
  • Perform category-level deep dives to uncover trends, leakage, and consolidation opportunities.
  • Track savings and report financial impact.
  • Lead implementation and optimization of contract spend with group purchasing organization (GPO) partners.
  • Lead sourcing strategies across key indirect categories.
  • Negotiate vendor agreements and optimize supplier performance.
  • Travel up to 30% to company sites and vendors.

 

People Leader Responsibilities

This position carries out People Leader Responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recommend personnel actions (pay adjustments, promotions, transfers, terminations).
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage individual performance of direct reports, if applicable.
  • Communicate personnel actions following Human Resources and Department Head approval.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are enforced and met.
  • Partner with human resources to interview/screen potential new hires.
  • Organize training and development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Update processes and procedures.
  • Oversee team/employee development.

 

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Finance, or related field, or commensurate combination of education and work experience.
  • 8 years’ relevant experience such as procurement, strategic sourcing, and/or spend management.
  • 3 years’ experience directly managing a team of sourcing professionals.
  • Experience implementing procurement governance and controls.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Proven success in indirect spend analysis, cost reduction, and process implementation.
  • Thorough knowledge of indirect purchasing channels, and P2P workflows and processes.
  • Strong financial modeling, change management, analytical, interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of traditional indirect spend KPIs and metrics and how to measure them.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, JDE, & Oracle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with expertise in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, etc.).
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
