About this role:
The Senior Counsel, General Legal, provides general legal advice for the Data Centers business within Carrier’s Commercial HVAC business. This position is based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and reports to the Director, Legal, Commercial HVAC in the Climate Solutions Americas business segment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and service on a broad range of areas to business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations to ensure that corporate interests are well-represented.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, customers, and strategic partners involving equipment, service, and other Carrier offerings for data center, hyperscale, enterprises, and multinational customers and ensure compliance with Carrier’s overall strategy and policies.
- Provide guidance on developing the industry of data center technology.
- Coordinate with internal Centers of Excellence to provide full-scale legal support for business.
- Advise business on compliance risks and assist in closing compliance gaps by providing practical training and implementing corporate policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited US law school
- Bar Admission in any US state
- 6+ years of law firm experience or in-house corporate/commercial experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in contracts, technology, or corporate law
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Consultative, strategic, and solution-focused business partner with a growth mindset
- Ability to resolve conflict in a business-oriented approach with ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
