Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
- ensure clinical round of all patients admitted with genetic and metabolic disorders admitted to paediatric inpatient units
- work as a resource person for patients and their families as well as the metabolic / genetic clinicians
- actively participate in imparting education to patients and their families
- make rounds with consultants and participates in family sessions
- arrange individual and group teachings regarding the long term management issues.
- coordinate and organizes storage of metabolic and genetic samples for patients and families
- coordinate with clinical lab for shipment of metabolic and gentic samples to overseas labs
- maintain service, shipment, lab results and specialized milk products/ metabolic medicines log books
- assist metabolic / genetic clinicians in outpatient areas in performing clinics and take detailed patient and family history.
