Product Owner, Mobile Apps

Job Summary:

The Product Owner, Mobile Apps is a challenging and rewarding opportunity that plays a critical role in delivering innovative software products that drive business growth. The successful candidate will be experienced and responsible for collaborating with product managers to execute the product vision and strategy, ensuring that the development team delivers high-quality mobile software products that meet the needs of our customers and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mobile software application development, user experience design, and agile methodologies, as well as a proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams. This is a Phoenix-based hybrid position.

Requirements

What We Want You to Do:

• Define and prioritize the product roadmap and feature backlog for mobile app projects, based on business goals, user needs, and technical feasibility.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, designers, and developers, to gather requirements, conduct user research, and define product specifications.
• Translate business and user requirements into clear and actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
• Work closely with the development team to ensure a deep understanding of technical requirements, dependencies, and constraints.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-up meetings, providing clear guidance and direction to the development team.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the progress of mobile app projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback to validate and refine product features and functionalities.
• Collaborate with QA and testing teams to ensure thorough testing of mobile app solutions, including functional, performance, and security testing.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, mobile app technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and enhance product offerings.
• Communicate product updates, project status, and risks to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the development process.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a Product Owner or similar role, with a focus on mobile app development.
• Strong understanding of mobile app development and platforms (iOS, Android, hybrid apps, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of agile methodologies, such as Scrum, and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into actionable plans.
• Experience with product management tools, such as Azure DevOps, or similar platforms (Jira, etc.), for backlog management and project tracking.
• Familiarity with user-centered design principles and mobile app usability best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Travel to customer sites to conduct VOC interviews (up to 20% domestic travel required).
