The Media Production Program seeks to hire a per-course faculty member to teach MP 301, Video Production, in the Spring of 2025.
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 1:30 - 3:10pm
This course will be taught in person, on campus.
This course introduces students to the basics of digital video production. Topics covered include: (1) introduction to film language and sound design, (2) video camera basics and video-production workflow, (3) cinematography and lighting, (4) non-linear video editing, and (5) post-production techniques.
Qualifications
1) An MFA is preferred, but a PHD is acceptable, for applications to be considered.
2) Demonstrated success in teaching video production courses at the college level, including using the Adobe Premiere Pro editing platform
· Candidates should also be comfortable in a student-centered teaching environment with an interactive learning style.
· Work in a highly collaborative and cultural diverse classroom environment.
· Strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education.
Candidates must reside in California.
Salary: $9,929-$13,744 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
