What will you do? 

A day in the life of a Associate Allocator at Vans looks a little like this. 

As an Associate Allocator, you will be empowered to create, communicate and execute strategic plans to drive financial results.  Collaboration with the Planning, Buying and Replenishment teams as well as other cross functional business partners will position you to maximize sales and create allocations which will delivery turn targets and profitability.  You will support the financial goals for Vans Americas including the markets of US an Canada.  

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. 

  • Develop and execute merchandise allocation strategies based on Buy strategy developed by Merchandising and Planning. Analyze reports and make independent decisions that support merchandise financial plans, inventory turn objectives, regional and store attributes for assigned categories. 

  • Track classification/style performance weekly and adjust allocation strategy to maximize sales opportunities and minimize markdown liability. 

  • Create and analyze ad-hoc reporting as needed to drive allocation and business decisions 

  • Manage inventory consolidations between Ecommerce, full price, and outlet stores in partnership with Allocation and Merchant teams 

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Merchant, Planning, Store and DC teams. 

 

What do you need to succeed? 

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 2+ years of experience and professional achievements.   

The foundation skills you will need in this position are: 

  • Proven Allocation experience in an Omni, Multiple Retail Concept environment.  

  • Strong analytical and communication skills including the ability to read, analyze and interpret retail reports.   

  • A proactive business management approach, completing all assignments and job duties in a timely manner.  

  • Advanced computer skills including Excel and Word.
