Job Description

This is a Hybrid work environment with 3 days in office.

We are seeking a visionary and experienced IT Director of Network Engineering to oversee and guide our Global Enterprise Network Engineering team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Enterprise Network Engineering team ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Lead a team of network engineers and technicians, providing technical and leadership support.
  • Design, implement, and manage a highly secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise network infrastructure, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Oversee network performance, capacity planning, and proactive troubleshooting to ensure optimal network uptime and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain network security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Manage network service level agreements (SLAs) with internal and external vendors.
  • Oversee network budgeting and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of funds.
  • Stay current with emerging network technologies and trends, recommending and implementing solutions that enhance network efficiency and security.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the network services team.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments and business units to understand and address their network needs.
  • Manage and participate in network-related projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion.

Areas requiring a high-level of proficiency:

  • TCP/IP: SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network), API (Application Programming Interface), Protocols (UDP, ICMP)
  • IP Addressing: IPv4, IPv6, CIDR Notation, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
  • Subnet Mask: Subnetting, VLSM (Variable Length Subnet Mask), Classless Routing
  • Routing: Static Routing, Dynamic Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
  • Routers: SD-WAN Edge, Core, Intelligent Routing
  • Switches: Layer 2, Layer 3, Managed Switches, Multicast, VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks)
  • Firewalls: Stateful Firewalls, NGFW (Next-Generation Firewall), Zero-Trust Security
  • DNS: DNS Records (A, MX, CNAME), DNS Resolution, DNS Servers, DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions), Anycast DNS
  • VPN: IPsec, SSL/TLS, Site-to-Site VPN, Remote Access VPN
  • Wi-Fi: Standards (802.11ac, Wi-Fi 6), Access Points, Mesh Networks
  • Ethernet: Standards (10Gbps Ethernet), Cabling (Cat5e, Cat6)
  • IPAM (IP Address Management): IP Address pools, Automated provisioning, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), DNS-DHCP Integration
  • NAC (Network Access Control): Device authentication, Posture checks, 802.1X Authentication, Endpoint Compliance
  • SASE (Secure Access Service Edge): Cloud-delivered security, CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker), Cloud Firewall
  • Network Security: Zero Trust Security, Data Encryption, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Micro-segmentation, Threat Detection & Response
