Asset Servicing Technology – Lead Client Delivery, Data Engineering and Technology

Job Description:

Asset Servicing Technology is consolidating a group of data engineering teams and is seeking a Lead - Client Delivery, for our Data Engineering and Technology team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in client-facing roles, a deep understanding of finance, and financial engineering expertise with a proven track record of facing-off against clients within our industry. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on technologist with a proven track record of executing complex projects for hedge funds to lead and innovate within our organization as a senior member of a hybrid technology team.

Major Duties:

• Risk and Compliance Delivery
• Data Engineering and Design
• Management of data engineers
• Client Engagement: Act as a main point of contact for our clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and assisting in driving discovery. Understand client needs and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Project Execution: Participate and orchestrate the design, development, and implementation of complex data engineering and technology projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
• Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical expertise in Python, SQL, Bash/Shell, and front-end languages. Oversee the development of productionized applications aimed at enhancing process efficiency for both business partners and clients, internal and external.
• Financial Acumen: Leverage a deep understanding of finance and financial engineering to inform project strategies and deliver solutions that align with client objectives.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of talented professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Provide guidance and support to drive team performance and professional growth.

Experience:

Over 10 years of experience in the finance industry, with a strong emphasis on client-facing roles and financial engineering.

• Proven track record of executing complex projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of their unique challenges and requirements as well as a command of the subject matter.
• Expertise in Python, SQL, Bash/Shell, cloud, multiple dbms systems and front-end languages, with a history of building productionized applications.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

Salary Range:

$137,400 - 233,600 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
