About the role

Senior Freight and Customs Specialist

As Senior Freight and Customs Specialist you will be responsible for coordinating import freight activities and handling the administrative and documentation aspects of importing and exporting goods. Duties involve ensuring compliance with customs regulations, preparing and processing necessary paperwork, and facilitating the smooth movement of goods across borders.

  • Organizes and monitors the local/domestic shipments. Ensures information flow, and documents availability. Uses all the related systems

  • Controls and optimizes the truck utilizations

  • Supports bottom-up freight budget/forecast

  • Prepares the month end closure based on actual spending and provisions, evaluates results in comparison with forecast and provides explanation on deviations.

  • Organizes Premium shipments if necessary, ensures proper administration and approval process.

  • Ensures application of proper rates agreed and regular network revision and update according to volume fluctuation.

  • Participates in the daily/weekly and monthly meetings and calls with direct Managers and related stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely customs clearance

  • Customs import / export of goods (including export shipment invoicing- if the case)

  • Issuance of requests for classifications (RFC),

  • Preparation, verification and updating procedures and work instructions for customs processes

  • Participation in development, effectiveness and reorganization projects for internal needs

  • Monitoring and control of temporary import and export

  • Supervision of preferential origin process including preparation of preferential origin calculation, preferential origin certificates

  • Keeping contact with Aptiv Global Trade Compliance team, Hungarian Tax Authorities and Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

YOUR BACKGROUND:

  • 3+ years of experience in import freight handling and customs processes and law requirements in HU

  • Qualification in Customs administration

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with familiarity with ERP systems

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

  • English knowledge is required
