JOB SUMMARY: MSI-CAC is seeking a Project Developer to be responsible for developing, qualifying, and estimating projects.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Minimum 5 years experience.
  • Must have experience in mechanical estimating.
  • Ability to work mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of local Subcontractor Market.
  • Must be personable and capable of direct client interaction.
  • Well organized with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Subcontractor Project Management & Field Experience helpful but not required.
  • Working skills with standard business software (MS Office Suite). 
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple assignments.
  • Responsible for preparation and coordination of all aspects of Mechanical Estimates including conceptual, CM and lump sum.
  • Ability to generate take offs, conceptual estimates and detailed estimates for GMP/CM proposals, budgets and negotiated work with limited oversight by others.
  • Proactively researching new business opportunities for mechanical projects.
  • Manage Sales pipeline and Customer Relationship Management software.
  • Using telephone and email to contact clients.
  • Working closely with the sales team, to ensure joint venture projects are estimated.
  • Providing support to the sales team, to ensure they receive accurate high quality estimates and proposals.
  • All project and customer activities are expected to be logged and managed in the CRM.
  • Reports status of his project to company leadership on a recurring basis.
  • Maintain safe work environment on all projects.
  • Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and its employees to meet stated goals, objectives and business plans.
  • Participate in quality association with trade/business associations that enhance the company’s mission or business plan.
  • Provide junior associates with a “role model” example of the company’s business and work ethic as delineated in MSI’s Mission Statement

          Minimum Qualifications:

          • A minimum of 5 years experience in field operations.
          • A minimum of 2 years experience in estimating and bid preparation.

          Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

          • In-depth knowledge of HVAC&R systems and related supporting utilities.
          • Knowledge of local and industry codes that regulate the HVAC&R industry.
          • Ability to effectively manage and motivate employees.
          • Good Verbal and written communications skills.
          • Effective negotiator.
          • Initiates monthly billing for jobs in process.
          • Initiates schedule of values for job in conjunction with estimator.
          • Conducts bi-monthly safety meeting on jobs.
