About the role

Overview

The Fuel / Environmental Technician is responsible for inspection and maintenance of fuel system equipment. This position is home based in our Pearland, Texas office but is 100% mobile supporting the Houston area.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspect dispensers and other fuel system equipment and make necessary repairs

  • Complete work orders assigned in the maintenance tracking system

  • Assist and oversee third-party service technicians, when directed

  • Work directly with store management on training maintenance staff to perform routine dispenser repairs using established procedures

  • Assist with regulatory compliance by performing required periodic inspections of fuel system sumps and associated equipment, by ensuring required site compliance documentation is current and complete, and by managing regulated waste storage areas

  • Check fuel meter calibration and oversee third-party contractor during meter calibration

  • It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee’s assigned work site. No remote work is available

  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

  • Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum one year of relevant fuel system maintenance or fuel system construction experience

  • A satisfactory Texas MVR is required

  • Occasional travel requiring overnight stays will be required

  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Technical understanding of common fuel dispensers, Veeder Root automatic tank gauges, and associated equipment

  • Veeder Root certifications a plus

  • Ability to lift and move steel manway lids (some weighing 100 or more pounds) with or without assistance

  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl with prolonged walking/standing

  • Able to work a flexible schedule depending on the needs of the business; the typical workweek will be Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.  During high workload periods, those hours may be extended beyond the normal workday and may, on limited occasions, require weekend work
