Position Overview

The Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University seeks a candidate for an associated faculty position beginning August 2025.  

Duties will include teaching in-person core and advanced courses in psychology on the Columbus campus.  Initial appointment will be for one year and is renewable.  Anticipated teaching load is three courses per semester.  Full-time associated faculty also have a 10% service requirement.

Performance Objectives

·Ensure curriculum implementation and course preparation in accordance with school standards.

·Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning.

·Prepare homework and exams; evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.

·Meet scheduled classes and office hours in accordance with university policy.

·Maintain accurate records of student progress; submit final grade rosters in accordance with established university deadlines.

·Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Doctoral or Masters degree in psychology (with expectation of doctoral completion within 2 years). Evidence of expertise in effective teaching at the undergraduate level; 1 year teaching experience at the college level. 

Desired: Strong knowledge of Ohio State student population and general education requirements; experience teaching large-enrollment courses in a large, land-grant university setting; experience teaching Introductory Psychology at the college level; pedagogical training in evidence-based teaching
