Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor (Spanish Speaking) will serve on the leadership team for Alternatives behavioral health services and programming. The Behavioral Health Supervisor will have experience managing teams, behavioral health services, and quality assurance.


Responsibilities:

Perform the following from a racial, gender, sexuality, and ability equity lens:

Provide direct weekly supervision, including monitoring and evaluation, to the clinical intake team, south side therapists, Waukegan based therapists and interns who require clinical supervision

Manage the review, openings and closings of Southside team’s case files across departmental contracts

Participate in a rotation schedule to oversee and complete billing tasks, collaborating with the Behavioral Health Supervisors to ensure accurate and timely submission of billing documentation.

Collaborate with Behavioral Health Supervisors/Managers, on training all new staff to ensure comprehensive onboarding and integration into the team.

Manage and oversee the relationship with the staff psychiatrist, including scheduling appointments, managing the waitlist consultations

Ensure timely submission of invoices and documentation related to psychiatric services, working closely with the finance department.

Provide appropriate in-service training based on their assessed needs

Actively promote internal cross-collaboration between the Behavioral Health Team and Restorative Justice Teams

Provide direct weekly supervision and program oversight of the following direct service programs - Mental Health Juvenile Justice, Resource and Care Specialist, Community Health Worker, Community Financial Coach

Provide MSW level supervision to Trauma Informed Care interns in collaboration with the program coordinator.

Oversee interdepartmental programs and supervise frontline case management team.

Stay current with behavioral health best practices

Develop and maintain appropriate external partnerships and relationships

Participate in organizational work groups to facilitate strategic development including but not limited to: MCO development, Southside site development, EHR implementation, etc.

Attend and actively participate in department and agency meetings

Demonstrate knowledge of Alternatives, Inc. policies, practices, and services

Assist the Behavioral Health Director and the Director of Finance to monitor annual programs and budget planning

Actively participate in all applicable staff and team meetings, professional development trainings and supervision meetings.

Represent Alternatives at relevant forums and events as assigned.

Participate in Alternatives’ fundraising initiatives.

Complete in a timely fashion all other tasks as assigned.





Requirements
  1. Clinical License required (LCPC, LCSW)
  2. Must speak Spanish fluently
  3. At least 1 - 2 years of experience in clinical supervision, program management and behavioral health practice 
  4. Demonstrated success in clinical work to support clinical therapists in reflective, clinical, and administrative supervision
  5. Proficient in using technology as management reporting tool
