Zayo is seeking a Manager of Events to lead Zayo’s events strategy and execution. This senior role is responsible for overseeing our most critical customer-facing and internal events — including internal events, industry trade shows, executive summits, and demand-generation experiences.
This individual will lead a small but mighty team, manage key agency/vendor relationships, and partner closely with stakeholders across Sales, Product, Enablement, People Ops, and Executive Leadership. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic thinking, operational excellence, creative energy, and a deep understanding of how events drive brand, engagement, and pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Own the end-to-end events strategy aligned to Zayo’s marketing objectives, commercial priorities, and brand vision
Develop a 12-month events roadmap that supports campaign goals, revenue motions, and partner strategies
Serve as the senior advisor on all high-impact event experiences, including executive participation and messaging
Team & Vendor Management
Lead and mentor the Events team (including direct reports and contractors)
Oversee selection and management of third-party agencies, production partners, and venues
Ensure scalable, repeatable processes are in place for budget management, logistics, and content coordination
Event Execution Excellence
Deliver flawless execution of Zayo’s largest and most strategic events, including:
Sales Kickoff (Q1)
President’s Club
Customer and Partner Summits
Tier 1 industry events and trade shows
Develop executive-level agendas, coordinate speaking opportunities, and ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and People teams to align event strategy with business outcomes
Partner with Creative, Content, and Digital teams to develop immersive event experiences and assets
Act as the central point of coordination across internal and external stakeholders
Measurement & ROI
Establish clear KPIs and success criteria for all events
Report on event performance, including pipeline influence, engagement, and post-event impact
Continuously optimize event strategy based on insights and feedback
Qualifications
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in event marketing or experiential marketing roles, including at least 5 years managing a team
Proven success leading strategic B2B events in tech, telecom, or enterprise SaaS
Exceptional project management, budget ownership, and executive communications skills
Strong leadership presence and the ability to influence across senior stakeholders
Experience with Salesforce, event tech platforms (e.g., Splash, Cvent), and marketing analytics tools
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, performance-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
Telecom, infrastructure, or B2B SaaS industry background
Executive-level event experience (C-suite roundtables, board meetings, customer advisory boards)
Familiarity with content development, messaging strategy, and brand storytelling within events
Estimated Base Salary Range: $68,100 - $104,700 USD/annually.
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
