Description
The Care Software team is building a revolutionary imaging device. This device uses various kinds of cameras in order to close medical gaps. The imaging system mixes commodity electronics, computer vision, and machine learning solutions. As a Senior Linux Engineer on our Care Software team, you'll use your strong system software architecture and programming skills to help us develop products that physically interface with human beings to help them live happier, healthier lives. Our team supports multiple Verily projects, so this role provides an opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of unique products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test firmware/software systems for next-gen medical devices, including hardware-in-the-loop test framework, engineering development infrastructure, etc.
- Build a holistic system: there are many cross-cutting opportunities for ownership (image processing, ML, device management, security, and more).
- Own and develop significant camera features. This historically has been a mix of design and coding along with cross-functional validation and collaboration.
- Work closely with data science, UX, hardware, application, and cloud engineers to create highly integrated, novel products.
- Collaborate with teammates across the Medical Devices Software organization to advance our development practices.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience with 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience with C/C++, Python or similar system programming languages.
- Firmware and embedded experience: able to design, develop, profile and debug firmware across various microcontrollers.
- Experience with test automation infrastructure.
- Strong Linux system experience: able to design, develop, profile, and debug applications effectively across various Linux system layers.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop test frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with various embedded protocols (like I2C, SPI, etc.) and stacks (like USB, wifi, BT/BLE, etc.) is a plus.
- Familiarity with GPU-based technologies like CUDA, TensorRT, OpenCV, or ONNX, is a plus.
- Familiarity with building cloud-deployed data pipelines and web applications using GCP or similar platforms (like AWS or Azure).
- Willingness to learn/grow, and respectfulness that allows colleagues to do the same.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000-$227,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
