This position performs follow-up insurance billing and collection activities on a minimum of 30 claims per day; makes collection calls, verifying accuracy and completeness of claims, contacts insurance companies and collection agencies in regard to expediting payments from various payers for physician’s services.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review insurance follow up records that appear in the Visit Filing Order work queues to determine whether the insurance change should be accepted or rejected.
- Perform collection follow up duties from all payors for insurance claims that have received a denial of eligibility from the payor, including those related to coordination of benefits.
- Utilize payor websites and real time eligibility to confirm patient coverages.
- Contact patients and / or guarantors as needed to confirm insurance coverages.
- Assist with special projects.
- Consistently meet both quality assurance and productivity standards established for the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
