As a Facility HVAC technician that supports manufacturing and facility infrastructure at the Glasgow, DE Siemens Healthineers Site, you will be part of a team that works together to solve complex problems, install new equipment and support existing equipment to keep a world-class manufacturing site supplying the world with product.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within cross-functional and cross-discipline teams to install HVAC equipment and systems according to plans, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctioning systems and ancillary components to include air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, air compressors, boilers, heat pumps, wells, chillers and environmental units.
  • Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on complex HVAC/R systems and determine the need for repair and /or replacement of system components to include mechanical, electrical and/or fluid.
  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, blueprints and schematics for mechanical systems, structural modifications to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical and pneumatic control systems.
  • Ability to fit and assemble small diameter copper piping including soldering.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to balance air compressor pressures across multiple buildings.
  • Maintains records of work performed, materials used, and refrigerant used logs in accordance with established procedures and federal law.
  • Completing electronic logs and utilizing Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Work with vendors to specify and order necessary parts for jobs.
  • Experience with PLC controlled systems: mechanical and pneumatic.
  • Collaborate with and support external service suppliers as needed.
  • Work within a work order system.
  • Operates various electrical meters and testers, manometers, humidity recorders, leak testing equipment, refrigeration gauges, temperature recorders, pressure gauges, torches, recovery units, vacuum pumps and micron meter and related testing and repair devices.


Physical & Work Environment

This role involves working across the Glasgow, Delaware site in various weather conditions, including: hot, humid, cold or rainy weather. You should be comfortable wearing appropriate PPE for the task including gloves, glasses, hearing protection and hardhats when required. Physical demands include standing, squatting, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred HVAC Journeyman License in Delaware or completion of a 4-year HVAC Apprenticeship
  • Preferred possession of a Universal CFC certification
  • Trained in LOTO
  • Preferred Trane equipment experience.
  • Experience with Lean business systems and methodologies such as TPM, 5S and Standard Work
  • 3-5 Years experience working in commercial settings with commercial equipment
  • Familiarity with facilities ancillary equipment: Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Wells, Water Systems, Air Handlers, Commercial Refrigeration and Cargocaires
  • Position will require off-hours on-call support as well, as occasional weekend overtime
