Electrician/Maintenance
In the journeyman electrician role, you will perform electrical work and inspection on wiring, fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components. You will replace and repair electrical equipment and devices as required. You must maintain a deep understanding of building code regulations to check and ensure compliance with the highest standards of building design and construction. Success in this role will be demonstrated by employing effective process controls to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Interprets technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots faulty wiring
- Responsible for mechanical equipment adjustments and repairs
- Responsible for mechanical installations to include equipment and utilities
- Runs tests on generators and other backup systems
- Leads compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards
- Checks for and deploy upgrades of electrical components
- Documents problems and prepares reports
- Facilitates order of needed electrical components
Job Requirements
- Relevant hands-on experience preferred
- Completed a 4-year apprenticeship program
- Electrician license or certification
- Experience running conduit
- In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, wiring schematics
- Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety standards
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Must have own tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
