About the role

The Team:

Home Care South is a dedicated team within the Department of Health (Tasmania) that provides essential support to older people and eligible clients across Southern Tasmania. The team delivers services under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and the Tasmanian Home and Community Care Program (HACC), helping clients maintain independence and safety in their own homes.

Our services are designed to reduce health and safety risks, promote wellbeing, and support clients to live with dignity. The team upholds the Aged Care Quality Standards and contributes to a safe, respectful environment for both clients and staff, reflecting the Department’s values and commitment to community care.

The Role:

The Coordinator Home Care South supports the Manager Home Care South in the operational delivery and strategic development of home and community care services under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and the Tasmanian Home and Community Care Program (HACC). The role provides leadership, supervision, and coordination of staff and services to ensure high-quality, person-centred care across Southern Tasmania. This role focuses on the activities of CHSP and HACC funded services.

You will need:

  1. Proven leadership skills and the ability to support and inspire compassion, accountability, respect and excellence to a team of staff working in isolated situations.
  2. High standard of oral, written and computer communication skills and effective interpersonal skills in client interactions, staff engagement, and stakeholder relationships.
  3. Proficiency in computer systems and data management tools to enhance service delivery, monitor performance and activity, and analyse data to inform decisions.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: General Stream Band 4

$81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:
