HAL - 2nd Electrical Officer

Description
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical, electronic equipment, installations and machinery as directed by the Chief Electrical Officer.Key Responsibilities
- Maintains and repairs electrical/electronic installations in the engine room as directed by the Chief Electrical Officer.
- Maintains and repairs electrical installation in the Hotel Department, including HV/LV electrical distribution, elevators, escalators, platforms, dimmer systems and sliding doors.
- Maintains and repairs safety equipment, including watertight doors, break doors, navigation lights, fire detection systems, P.A. system, lifesaving equipment and low location lighting.
- Maintains and repairs the elevators and supervises cleaning of elevator trunks.
- Assists the 1st Electrical Officer with maintenance and repair of the propulsion system.
- Communicates effectively with Deck, Technical and Hotel personnel.
- Prioritizes ethics and compliance including health, environmental protection, safety and security in day to day duties.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Electrical Officer.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Education:- National Seaman’s Book
- Minimum of 6 years electrical education and 1 year of practical experience.
- MBO Electrical (Dutch), electrician education or certification equivalent.
Experience:
- Completed 4 years as an electrician onboard ship or shoreside.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- See HRP-1200 STCW/COC requirements for a 2nd Electrical Officer.
- See TRG-1001 CSMART requirements for a 2nd Electrical Officer.
