The Department of Family and Community Medicine is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Clinical to provide clinical services at HealthSource of Ohio, Wards Corner Family Practice. They will contribute to research projects that are ongoing and that they initiate. Additionally, they will have teaching responsibilities in leading a small cohort of medical students in a learning community, providing mentorship, professional development, and opportunities for medical students to collaborate and receive peer support.

 

Essential Functions

Teaching

  • Supervise and teach residents and medical students in the hospital and outpatient clinic.
  • Provide learner feedback, including completing online evaluation forms.
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment for learners.
  • Mentor medical students through a learning community.
  • Participate in faculty development seminars and workshops.

 

Clinical Care

  • Provide direct patient care services at assigned clinical sites, including: HealthSource of Ohio, Wards Corner, Loveland.
  • Share on-call responsibilities in evenings and weekends/holidays.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinical site(s).
  • Serve on health system committees as needed.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional colleagues to promote holistic, evidence-based care.

 

Scholarship

  • All faculty are expected to contribute to scholarship, including any of the following: curriculum development, quality improvement, research, and dissemination.

 

Research duties may include the following:

  • Develop research plans and ensure they adhere to ethical guidelines.
  • Initiate new or contribute to ongoing collaborative research projects.
  • Present research results at regional or national conferences.
  • Publish articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Provide training and mentorship to trainees participating in research projects.
  • Apply for research funding.

Minimum Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO).
  • Ohio Medicial Board license prior to start date.
  • Completed an accredited five-year residency program in Family Medicine/Psychiatry.

 

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Willing and able to care for patients in outpatient settings.
