JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count Federal Work-Study Program (NLR/NLC) is seeking applicants to join our program for the 2023/2024 academic year.
NLR/NLC students seek to enhance the early reading, math, and science skills of children in the surrounding communities. Working directly with Early Childhood Programs in the community, NLR/NLC students assist and support the classroom teachers, engage directly with the children, and provide one-on-one and/or small-group instruction. Positions are available between the hours of 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Required minimum commitments of MWF or TR, with 2-hour time blocks/day. Initial hourly rates for NLR/NLC participants will be $14/hour for the 2023/2024 academic year.
This job requires the following publicly available clearances and verifications:
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
- FBI Criminal Background Check.
- National Sex Offenders Registry (NSOR)
Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available.
