About the role

As a Derived Market Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, transforming, and storing market data to provide meaningful insights to our consumers. You will also contribute to the development of applications that enhance data accuracy and generate proxies when needed.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Development and support of Risk models with other Quants.
  • Build microservices-based applications that run natively in the cloud.
  • Influence technology choices and contribute to the architecture of newly developed components and services.
  • Use Java 8+ with Spring/Spring Boot framework.
  • Strive for serverless solutions using Linux, virtualization, containers, Docker, and k8/OpenShift.
  • Design and develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Feature Engineer to interpret business requirements and deliver features with real business value.
  • Ensure software security by applying timely updates and aiming for zero IT risk.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and actively learn from your colleagues

     

Key Competencies

  • Strong focus on delivering high-quality working software that meets customer requirements.
  • Curiosity and up-to-date knowledge of technical and financial services developments.
  • Familiarity with financial markets or a willingness to familiarize yourself with the domain.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders, translate information into stories, and develop working software with real business value.
  • Willingness to learn and understand fundamentals, even when utilizing high-level technologies and frameworks.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery practices, preferably using Azure DevOps.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Quant developer. In Financial domain is a plus.
  • Experience in software engineering using JVM languages and popular frameworks like Spring Boot.
  • Proficiency in developing automated and unit tests.
  • Comfortable with relational databases and SQL, particularly Oracle and PL/SQL.
  • Familiarity with source control, CI/CD, and documentation tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence, Git, and Maven.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (writing and spoken).
  • Strong analytical skills, proactive attitude, and ability to work in international teams.
  • Comfortable with remote collaboration tools, such as MS Teams, and the ability to work productively in a remote or hybrid work environment.
  • Experience in Financial markets is a plus.
